Judgment text excerpt

The Supreme Court held that under Section 8 of the Arbitration and Conciliation Act, 1996, a party can seek reference to arbitration if there exists a valid arbitration agreement. The Court found that the High Court erred in dismissing the appellant's revision petition, as the dispute arose from the Dealership Agreement which contained a clear arbitration clause. The Court allowed the appeal, directing that the matter be referred to arbitration as per the agreement's provisions.
