The appellant was convicted under Section 304 Part I of the IPC for culpable homicide after the Trial Court found that while the appellant caused the fatal injuries, there was no specific intention to kill. The High Court of Kerala subsequently dismissed the appellant's appeal against this conviction and sentence of 8 years rigorous imprisonment. The Supreme Court is reviewing the case via Special Leave Petition to determine the validity of the conviction based on the testimonies of eye witnesses and circumstantial evidence.
