Judgment text excerpt

The Supreme Court addressed the dispute between the Digambari and Swetambari Jain communities regarding the management and possession of the Shri Antariksha Parshwanath temple and surrounding fields. The Court held that the plaintiffs, representing the Digambari community, were entitled to joint possession of the fields as per the historical management rights established under Section 145 of the Criminal Procedure Code. The judgment of the Bombay High Court was set aside, restoring the decree of the lower appellate court in favor of the plaintiffs.
