Judgment text excerpt

The Supreme Court upheld the conviction of the Appellant under Section 13(1)(e) read with Section 13(2) of the Prevention of Corruption Act, affirming that the Appellant acquired assets disproportionate to his known sources of income during his tenure as a public servant. The Court found that the evidence presented, including testimonies from 65 witnesses, sufficiently established the Appellant's financial misconduct. The conviction was maintained, and the confiscation of assets amounting to Rs. 77,49,337.77 was also upheld.
