Judgment text excerpt

The Supreme Court upheld the enforceability of the electricity supply agreement between the Appellants and the Respondent, emphasizing that under Clause 9, the consumer could not terminate the agreement before three years but could do so thereafter with a twelve-month notice. The Court clarified that even if energy was not consumed, minimum charges were still applicable, and the date of disconnection would be deemed as the notice date for termination if reconnection was not sought. The appeal against the dismissal of the Letters Patent Appeal was therefore dismissed, affirming the lower court's decision.
