Judgment text excerpt

The Supreme Court, while considering the appeal of the appellant convicted under Sections 409 and 420 IPC for misappropriating Rs. 13,400/-, held that the sentence of rigorous imprisonment can be reduced to the period already undergone, which was three months. The Court noted the subsequent remittance of the entire misappropriated amount by the appellant to the bank, which was confirmed by the State. Consequently, the Court disposed of the appeal by reducing the sentence accordingly.
