Judgment text excerpt
The Supreme Court upheld the judgment of the Karnataka High Court confirming the Industrial Tribunal's decision to grant the same pay scale to the Accountant in the Southern Railways Co-operative Bank Limited as that of similar positions in other Co-operative Banks, based on evidence of comparable workload. The Court distinguished the case from Union of India v. J.V. Subhaiah, asserting that the Tribunal's findings were well-supported by evidence and did not constitute an error of law warranting interference under Article 136 of the Constitution of India. Consequently, the appeal was dismissed without costs.
