Judgment text excerpt

The Supreme Court addressed the legality of disciplinary proceedings initiated against a member of the Rajasthan Higher Judicial Service under Article 32 of the Constitution. The Court quashed the first set of disciplinary proceedings initiated by the Full Court on 21st October 1994, citing the precedent in R.C. Sood Vs. High Court of Rajasthan, 1994 (Suppl) 3 SCC 711. The Court held that the initiation of the second disciplinary proceedings was also flawed, thereby reinforcing the protection of judicial officers from arbitrary actions.
