The Supreme Court held that the respondent's conviction under Section 325 IPC did not preclude the imposition of disciplinary action under Article 311(2) of the Constitution. The Court ruled that since the respondent accepted the appellate authority's order and resumed duty, he could not later challenge the legality of the punishment imposed.
