SHRI M.V. SRINIVASA & ORS. vs STATES OF ANDHRA PRADESH & ORS.

The Supreme Court addressed the entitlement of employees working on projects in Karnataka for project allowances and amenities such as rent-free quarters, free electricity, and water supply. The Court held that while project allowance is only available to those stationed at the project site, the amenities are available to all project staff regardless of their posting location. The retrospective withdrawal of these amenities by the Government was deemed invalid, thus upholding the rights of the employees under the earlier government orders dated 27.9.1960 and 18.12.1968.
