Judgment text excerpt
The Supreme Court held that under Section 14(1) of the Hindu Succession Act, 1956, Laxmamma's limited right to property bequeathed by her husband Pedda Chennaiah transformed into an absolute right upon her death. The Court affirmed the concurrent findings of the trial and appellate courts that the respondents had been in possession of the property since 1947, and thus an injunction against the appellants was justified. The appeal was dismissed, upholding the lower courts' decisions.
