Judgment text excerpt

The Supreme Court addressed the appeal of Satish Mehra against the charges of sexual abuse and matrimonial offences under Sections 354, 376, and 498A IPC. The Court held that the allegations made by the wife were unsubstantiated, particularly as investigations in the U.S. found them to be false. Consequently, the Court ruled that no charge under Section 498A IPC could be framed against the appellant, but charges under Sections 354 and 376 read with Section 511 IPC were to be considered for framing.
