Judgment text excerpt

The Supreme Court held that the Government Order No.G.O.MS. No.55/66/Home allows all graduates employed in the Police Department, including those in the Special Police Department, to apply for the post of Sub-Inspector, provided they are within the age limit of 30 years. The Court found that the appellant, despite being promoted as Sub-Inspector in the Armed Police, was entitled to be considered for the regular post in the Police Department. The appeal was allowed, directing the Public Service Commission to consider the appellant's case according to the rules.
