Judgment text excerpt

The Supreme Court addressed the validity of an arbitration clause following the termination of an agreement under which the respondent was to fill vials with medicines. The Court held that the arbitration clause remained operative despite the termination of the agreement on 1.4.1984, as the dispute arose from the agreement itself. The Court also ruled that the Subordinate Judge had jurisdiction to entertain the application under Section 33 of the Arbitration Act, 1940, affirming the High Court's decision.
