Judgment text excerpt

The Supreme Court upheld the decision of the Central Administrative Tribunal regarding the respondent's retirement age, affirming that the Railway Administration's reliance on the respondent's previously declared date of birth (6.9.1930) was justified. The Court noted that the respondent failed to timely contest the recorded date of birth and did not provide sufficient evidence to support his claim of a different date (4.9.1934). Consequently, the Court dismissed the appeal, affirming the retirement order effective from 30th September 1988.
