Judgment text excerpt

The Supreme Court upheld the findings of the M.P. High Court regarding the void nature of the sale deeds executed by Laxman Prasad and his son Devi Prakash under the M.P. Samaj Ke Kamjor Wargon Ke Krishi Bhumidharakon Ka Udhar Dene Walon Ke Bhumi Hadapane Sambandhi Kuchakron Se Paritran Tatha Mukti Adhiniyam. The Court clarified that the provisions of the Act apply to transactions involving agricultural land not exceeding specified limits, and since the land in question fell within these limits, the transactions were deemed prohibited. The Court directed the appellants to deliver possession of the land back to the original owner, Rama Krishna, confirming the lower court's ruling under Article 226 of the Constitution.
