Judgment text excerpt

The Supreme Court upheld the termination of the appellant's services under the U.P. Cooperative Dairy Federation and Milk Union Centralised Service Rules, 1984, and the U.P. Cooperative Societies Employees Service Regulations, 1975. It was held that the appellant, who was appointed to a temporary post, could not claim regular status as the post had not existed for five years as required by Regulation 17(1). The Court concluded that the appellant's employment was that of a temporary employee, and thus the termination was valid under Section 122-A of the Uttar Pradesh Cooperative Societies Act, 1965.
