Judgment text excerpt

The Supreme Court, under Article 32 of the Constitution, directed the Mahanagar Telephone Nigam Limited to treat Reserve Trained Pool Telephone Operators (RTPTOs) at par with regular employees regarding service conditions and emoluments. The Court upheld its previous orders from Writ Petition No. 11764 of 1985, ensuring RTPTOs receive wages not exceeding those of regular staff, along with applicable dearness and other allowances. The Court clarified that any grievances beyond this order could be addressed separately by the petitioners.
