Judgment text excerpt

The Supreme Court held that under Sections 19(2) and 28(1) of the A.P. Tenancy & Agricultural Lands Act, 1950, the appellants were recognized as protected tenants and could not be dispossessed without proper procedure. The Court found that the Association failed to prove that the landlords offered the land to the appellants before transferring it, thus reversing the lower court's decision and directing the Tehsildar to restore possession to the appellants within one month, along with costs of Rs. 20,000 to be paid by the Association.
