Judgment text excerpt

The Supreme Court held that under Section 12(1)(e) of the M.P. Accommodation Control Act, 1961, the landlord must demonstrate a bona fide and reasonable need for eviction. The Court found that the first appellate court's conclusion that the landlord's need was not bona fide was justified, as the evidence did not support the landlord's claims regarding his and his wife's health issues. Consequently, the Supreme Court upheld the High Court's decision reversing the first appellate court's ruling, thereby allowing the landlord's eviction suit.
