Judgment text excerpt
The Supreme Court held that the Delhi Municipal Corporation must regularize the services of daily wage Vaccinators/Immunisors who have been working for over eight years and pay them wages equivalent to the minimum pay of regularly employed counterparts, as per the principles established in Daily Rated Casual Labour employed under P & T Department v. Union of India and U.P. Income-tax Department Contingent Paid Staff Welfare Association v. Union of India. The Court found no justification for the disparity in wages and directed the Corporation to implement the order from the date of reference, 23.11.1981, including corresponding dearness allowance.
