Judgment text excerpt

The Supreme Court upheld the High Court's decision that the marriage between the respondent and appellant No. 1 was not established under Section 125 of the Code of Criminal Procedure. Consequently, the court ruled that appellant No. 1 was not entitled to maintenance as she was not recognized as the wife. Furthermore, the court found that appellant No. 2 was not the illegitimate child of the respondent, thus denying maintenance for her as well. The appeals were dismissed, affirming the High Court's judgment.
