SMT. P. GROVER vs STATE OF HARYANA AND ANR.

The Supreme Court held that Smt. P. Grover, having been promoted to the post of acting District Education Officer on July 19, 1976, is entitled to the salary of that post until her retirement on August 31, 1980. The Court found no justification in the counter-affidavit from the Government of Haryana for denying her the pay, as there was no rule preventing payment to an officer promoted on an acting basis. The appeal was allowed, and Smt. Grover was awarded costs.
