Judgment text excerpt

The Supreme Court held that written submissions made by a party after a judgment was reserved, pursuant to court directions, do not constitute private communication to the judge and do not interfere with the due course of justice as per Section 2(c)(ii) of the Contempt of Court Act. The Court affirmed that such submissions are part of the record and cannot be deemed prejudicial. Consequently, the High Court's decision to not initiate contempt proceedings against the respondents was upheld.
