MUNSHI & ORS. vs RICHPAL & ORS.

The Supreme Court held that under Section 7 of the Pepsu Tenancy and Agricultural Lands Act, 1955, a tenancy cannot be terminated except on specified grounds. The Court affirmed that the plaintiff-pre-emptor was deemed a tenant on the date of sale and other relevant dates, thus entitled to pre-empt the land. The appeal was dismissed as the appellant failed to prove the termination of tenancy as per Sections 7 and 7A, and the precedent in Rikki Ram & Anr v. Ram Kumar & Ors was followed.
