Judgment text excerpt

The Supreme Court held that under Section 12(1)(a) and (f) of the Madhya Pradesh Accommodation Control Act, 1961, a statutory tenant has a heritable interest in the premises, allowing their legal representatives to continue the appeal after the tenant's death. The Court found that the High Court correctly ruled that the offer of rent by cheque constituted valid tender and that the appellants failed to prove bona fide requirement for their own use. The appeal was dismissed, affirming the High Court's decision.
