Judgment text excerpt

The Supreme Court held that the striking down of Act No. 9 of 1967 resulted in the revival of the Hyderabad Inams Abolition Act, 1955. The Court ruled that the Inam lands had already vested in the State under the 1955 Act, and thus there was no estate left to be abolished. It was determined that Abkari rights are appurtenant to the land and, upon vesting of Inam lands in the government, these rights also vest with the government, affirming the High Court's decision.
