Judgment text excerpt
The Supreme Court held that the Deputy Registrar's order dated 2 May 1972, which disqualified the petitioner and others from the Board of Directors of the Bulandshahr Federation, was illegal and based on a wrong interpretation of the bye-laws. The Court emphasized that Section 188 of the Uttar Pradesh Co-operative Societies Act, 1965 protects the proceedings of the Federation's meetings, and the Deputy Registrar acted beyond his authority in annulling the resolutions. Consequently, the Court quashed the Deputy Registrar's order, reinstating the petitioner's position.
