Judgment text excerpt
The Supreme Court addressed the jurisdiction of the High Court in recognizing a permit granted by the Regional Transport Authority (R.T.A.) after it was cancelled by the State Transport Appellate Tribunal (S.T.A.). The Court held that it would not intervene at this stage as the appeal was still pending before the High Court, and the Letters Patent Bench had merely upheld the Single Judge's order pending the appeal's resolution. Thus, the Court declined to grant special leave under Article 136 of the Constitution regarding the interlocutory order.
