The Supreme Court held that the appellant, a registered Homoeopathic practitioner, was guilty under Section 304A of the Indian Penal Code for administering poisonous medicine without adequately studying its effects, leading to the death of the patient. The court found that the conclusion of the lower courts regarding death from Dhatura poisoning was not erroneous, and thus the appellant was acquitted of the charge under Section 302 IPC.
