Judgment text excerpt

The Supreme Court held that donations to political funds cannot be deducted as a proper expense when calculating available surplus for bonus distribution under the Full Bench formula. It ruled that profits from normal business transactions and commissions earned from foreign manufacturers do not qualify as extraneous income. The Court concluded that salesmen, having already received a share of profits, are not entitled to additional bonuses, and apprentices, contributing minimally to profits, are also not entitled to any bonus.
