Present writ petition is arising out of a dispute of Committee of Management of Aligarh Muslim University Old Boys' Association which has old history, as it was founded way back in 1899. It appears that it was registered under Societies Registration Act, 1860 (for short "Act, 1860") in the year 1984. Number of Members of the Association are more than six thousands. 2 WRIC No. - 3678 of 2026 2. It is not much disputed that last election of Association was held on 21.10.2022 and according to its Bye-laws, its term was for 3 years, which was supposed to come to end on 21.10.2025, therefore, outgoing Committee of Management has to take steps for fresh election in terms of Clause 10(i) of Bye- laws.
