A claim petition came to be instituted by Respondent Nos. 2 to 6, under Section 166 read with Section 140 of the Motor Vehicles Act, 1988 before Respondent No. 1, seeking compensation of Rs. 1,68,44,414/- along with interest, on the ground that the claim was made against the insurer, owner, and driver of the Car bearing no. HR-26-BM-4939, on account of the death of one Ajit Kumar in a road traffic accident that occurred on 05.10.2021 at about 8:30 p.m. and thereafter he succumbed to injuries and expired.
