The present writ petition has been instituted questioning the legality and validity of the action of the respondents in rejecting the candidature of the petitioner for recruitment to the post of Assistant Teacher (L.T. Grade) in Government Secondary Schools, solely on account of an inadvertent discrepancy occurring in mentioning wrong date of birth in the online application form. The factual matrix, as emanating from the pleadings brought on record, reveals that an advertisement came to be issued by the competent authority inviting online applications for appointment to the post of Assistant Teacher (L.T.
