The present petition has been filed under Section 483 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, 2023 (earlier Section 439 Cr.P.C.) for grant of interim bail to the petitioner in case FIR No. 26 dated 05.08.2023, registered under Sections 21(c), 29 of the NDPS Act, 1985 (Section 27 of the NDPS Act and Section 25 of the Arms Act added later on) at Police Station SSOC, Fazilka, District Fazilka. 2. Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the father of the petitioner has expired and the Antim Ardas ceremony is fixed for 08.05.2026. It is contended that being the son, the petitioner is required to be present to perform last rites and related ceremonies.
