Plaintiff filed an interpleader suit claiming that he is tenant in the premises in question since 1984. Defendant wanted an exponential increase in the rent. After plaintiff declined, defendant tried to forcibly evict him. Plaintiff filed suit for permanent injunction. Defendant filed eviction petition against the plaintiff. There are number of title suits pending between defendants, wherein the plaintiff has been arraigned as defendant. The defendant does not want to be dragged in unwanted litigation, as the plaintiffs are required to inter plead amongst themselves with respect to their claims. 3.
