Plaintiff filed an interpleader suit claiming that he is tenant in the premises in question since 1984. Defendant wanted an exponential increase in the rent. After plaintiff declined, defendant tried to forcibly evict him. Plaintiff filed suit for permanent injunction. Defendant filed eviction petition against the plaintiff. There are number of title suits pending between defendants, wherein the plaintiff has been arraigned as defendant. The defendant does not want to be dragged in unwanted litigation, as the plaintiffs are required to inter plead amongst themselves with respect to their claims. 3. Defendant No.1 filed written statement. As per the pleadings in the written statement, eviction petition filed by defendant No.1 was dismissed by Rent Controlle
