The present petition has been filed by the petitioners under Articles 226/227 of the Constitution of India, seeking issuance of a writ of mandamus directing the respondents to re-consider the promotions of the petitioners and to promote them as D.P.E. w.e.f. 01.04.2010 instead of 30.12.2015 and further as Lecturer Physical Education as the employees/juniors were promoted to the post of D.P.E. based on their qualification i.e. B.P.E. (Bachelor of Physical Education) and to grant the petitioners all consequential benefits including seniority, re-fixation of salary and arrears of pay with interest @ 9% per annum. 2.
