(Oral) The petition has been filed inter alia seeking a writ of mandamus directing the respondents to extend the petitioner’s date of retirement on account of his permanent disability, in terms of Rule 143 (1) of the Haryana Civil Services (General) Rules, 2016 (for short, ‘the 2016 Rules’). 2. Learned State counsel submits that after amendment to the said rule vide notification dated 03.02.2026, clause (i), (ii), Note 1 and Note 3 of Rule 143 (1) of the 2016 Rules, whereunder the benefit of extension of the date of retirement is admissible, stands deleted. The petitioner is due to retire on 31.05.2026, that is, after the date of notification, and would therefore not be entitled to the benefit.
