The instant writ petition is directed against the order dated 22.02.2017 passed by the District and Sessions Judge, Faridabad, whereby the petitioner’s claim for promotion on the ground that his junior had been promoted, was rejected. 2. A perusal of the impugned order reveals that the District and Sessions Judge has categorically recorded that the petitioner was served with a charge-sheet and thereafter issued a show cause notice proposing the punishment of dismissal from service. However, taking into consideration his past service record, his request for leniency made at the time of personal hearing, and the fact that he was due to retire on 30.06.2014, only a penalty of ₹5,000/- was imposed upon him.
