In the present petition, the challenge is to impugned order dated 18.05.2026 (Annexure P-4) whereby the nomination papers filed by the petitioner to contest the election to the post of Municipal Council, Jaitu, Ward No.14 has been rejected by the respondents. 2. After arguing for sometime, learned counsel for the parties agree that keeping in view the provisions of the Punjab State Election Commission Act, 1994, in case any nomination form so filed has been rejected on the basis of some typographical error/clerical mistake, the same can be rectified by giving a due chance to the candidate concerned.
