The present writ petition has been filed under Articles 226/227 of the Constitution of India averring therein that the petitioner has filed an appeal along with an application for stay which is pending before respondent No.2 – Deputy Commissioner, Panipat. 2. Learned counsel for the petitioner has stated that though the appeal and the application for stay were filed as far back as 19.03.2026, however, no orders have been passed on the application for stay despite the appeal being a statutory appeal. Learned counsel further states that he limits his prayer in the present petition to the extent that the petitioner would be satisfied if a direction is given to respondent No.2 to decide the application for stay in a time-bound manner and till such time as the application for stay is decided, no coercive action be taken against the petitioner.
