The present petition has been filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India read with Section 3(1)(d) of the Punjab Good Conduct (Temporary Release) Act, 1962, seeking issuance of a writ in the nature of mandamus directing the respondents to release the petitioner on parole for a period of 08 weeks to enable him to meet and look after his family members, comprising his wife and two minor sons. It is further prayed for quashing of the impugned order dated 27.10.2025 (Annexure P-5) passed by respondent No. 2-Deputy Commissioner-cum-District Magistrate, Hoshiarpur, whereby the petitioner’s request for parole has been declined, as well as the report dated 10.10.2025 (Annexure P-4) submitted by respondent No. 3 whereby the case of the petitioner for grant of parole was not recommended. 2026:PHHC:07
