The present petition has been filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India seeking issuance of a writ in the nature of mandamus directing the official respondents to protect the life and liberty of the petitioner and to ensure safe passage for the petitioner’s transport vehicles engaged in transportation of foodgrains. 2. Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the petitioner is engaged in the business of transportation of wheat/foodgrains and has been awarded the contract for transportation of foodgrains from the designated godown to the railway station. It is contended that respondents No.8 and 9 are illegally interfering in the business operations of the petitioner and are obstructing/stopping the petitioner’s trucks while in transit, thereby causing hindrance in execution of the contractual work
