In the present petition, the petitioners are praying for issuance of a writ in the nature of Mandamus directing the respondents to issue “Benefit Certificate” for exemption from payment of stamp duty and registration charges. 2. Learned counsel appearing on behalf of the petitioners submits that the land belonging to the petitioners was acquired for the purpose of widening of National Highway No.71 (Sangrur to Punjab/Haryana Border Section) in District Sangrur vide order dated 31.10.2014. He further submits that consequent upon the acquisition, the petitioners were awarded compensation. Thereafter, the petitioners approached the respondents on several occasions for grant of “Benefit Certificate” (Stamp Duty Exemption Certificate) on account of compulsory acquisition of their land
