The instant appeal has been filed by the appellants-claimants challenging the award dated 05.12.2003 passed by the learned Motor Accident Claims Tribunal, Nawanshahr (hereinafter referred to as the learned Tribunal) whereby the claim petition preferred by the appellants under Section 166 of the Motor Vehicles Act, 1988 seeking compensation for death of son of appellants, has been dismissed. 2. Briefly stated, the case of the appellants is that on 01.11.1996 at about 7:00 PM, Rajiv Kumar, son of the appellants, along with Iqbal Singh, was travelling on scooter bearing registration No.PB-08-L-2554 towards village Binjon via
