The present writ petition has been filed under Articles 226/227 of the Constitution of India seeking issuance of a writ in the nature of mandamus directing the respondents to grant the petitioners an opportunity to exercise their option for allocation to either the Regulatory Wing or Commercial Wing, in parity with other similarly situated employees, after bifurcation of the Transport Department (Head Quarter). 2. Learned counsel for the petitioners submits that the petitioners were duly selected and appointed as Clerks under the Haryana Transport Department (Group C) Service Rules, 1998, wherein no bifurcation of ministerial staff is contemplated.
