The petitioner through instant petition under Articles 226/227 of the Constitution of India is seeking direction to respondents to pay interest on delayed payment of compensation. 2. The victim suffered electrocution in March’ 2021. The petitioner served notice upon respondents seeking compensation in January’ 2022. The compensation was released on 06.05.2026. 3. Learned counsel representing the petitioner submits that petitioner is entitled to interest as per Section 4A of Employees’ Compensation Act, 1923 (for short ‘1923 Act’).
