(ORAL) Prayer in the present civil writ petition, filed under Articles 226/227 of Constitution of India, is for issuance of a writ in the nature of mandamus directing the respondents to re-issue the passport to the petitioner. 2. Learned counsel for the respondents has handed over a copy of an email dated 08.05.2026 issued by the office of the Regional Passport Officer, Chandigarh addressed to him. The relevant extract thereof reads as under:- “Dear Counsel, Reference trailing email, 2. Petitioner (hereinafter referred to as applicant) has applied for reissue of passport vide application file no. CH3075932985725 dated 06.10.2025 in lieu of her old passport bearing no. P9110544 (which was issued under ECR category as applicant had not submitted documentary proof of ECNR) dated 20.04.2017 and valid till 19.04.2027. 3.
