Instant petition has been filed under Articles 226/227 of the Constitution of India seeking a writ of mandamus directing the respondents to step up the pay of the petitioner at par with his junior official belonging to reserved category, in terms of Punjab Government circulars dated 22.10.1999 (Annexure P-1), dated 14.03.2017 (Annexure P-2) along with all consequential benefits arising therefrom, including refixation of pay/pension, payment of arrears, revision of retiral benefits and all other admissible dues along with interest @ 18% per annum. Further prayer has been made for directing the respondents to pay interest @ 18% per annum on the delayed release of gratuity and pension, which were disbursed on 01.10.2025, despite the petitioner having retired on 28.02.2025, without any justifiable reason. 2.
