Petitioner has assailed judgment dated 28.01.2026 of the learned Court of Sessions, whereby order passed by the trial magistrate under Section 143A Negotiable Instruments Act was modified on the basis of a judicial precedent, holding that it is only the petitioner, who being the drawer of the cheque in question was liable to pay the 20% cheque amount as interim compensation. 2. On last date, none appeared for petitioner, so after framing the legal issue of maintainability, matter was adjourned to this date.
